What Makes a Cherished Childhood Memory?

What Makes a Cherished Childhood Memory?

June 24, 2020

What sticks out to you? So many of my cherished memories were formed in daydreams and imaginative play with my siblings, family whiffle ball games, dinners together, treks in the woods, building forts, making mud pies and learning to ride a bike.

Wild Mill Kids belongs in these cherished memories.  Your kids’ dirt covered clothes and mussed up hair and mud streaked faces as they hold out a fuzzy caterpillar or slimy worm they found. The tears wiped away as you bandage a scrape.  The spaghetti sauce covering a laughing face.

You’re raising doers who aren’t afraid to think outside the box and get dirty.  You’re raising adventurous kids confident in their own abilities and well versed in risk taking.

Wild Mill Kids will be a part of all those undocumented hours of precious childhood. A lot of those hours are messy, dirty, tear-stained, full of emotion, learning, and growth.  The magic of childhood lives deep in those messes.

I scoured the internet for what was knocking around in my head and discovered Rae's work.  She paints the most charming scenes of animals, gnomes, and fairies and it was exactly the whimsical, imaginative feeling I was looking for.  She perfectly captured the sentiments of adventure, exploration, and imagination that childhood holds.
